Exclamation

My dads got an 850 T5, today the car cut out at a junction and now won't start. It turns over but there is no spark from the HT coil.

Just wondered if anyone knew Volvo's well enough to know what could be the cause.

Cheers

John

Lack of Petrol?
Blocked/Broken Fuel Pump? (or fuel pump relay)

Surely the lack of a spark at the coil can't be fuel related though I'm no engine expert, infact I would have said it would be the ignition coil, but the AA man told him it was ok...

Sorry but it could be any of these: Ignition module, coil, main (king) ht lead, rotor arm or cap if it has one, dizzy, flywheel sensor or a wiring problem.
