Related to SCOOBYNET or any fu*king net.......i am disgusted to call myself human when there are people around who can do the kinda thing i heard on the news about a young Asian lad who had been severly beaten and then set alight in North London, they dont know who he is.....I am not Asian,as my name *might* suggest.
It makes me feel physically sick...sorry but i had to say this..

Only a few days ago people on here were calling for the blood of car theives and carjackers ............ quite rightly in my opinion.
We have NO idea whatsoever about the lad, the circumstances or anything about this case.
Are we now saying that its terrible and no-one should suffer like that?? In which case I dont want to see anymore - 'Burn The B4stards' posts when we are talking Scum.
I am NOT saying anything about THIS case but it strikes me as very odd when some people say how bad it all is - then say how the scum should have their hands cut off etc.
Just my humble!

I am saying - we know NOTHING about this case
Was he a drug dealer? was he a car theif? was he totally innocent?
Was he a carjacker? was he a choir boy?
We do NOT know do we??
What I am saying is:- If he was a carjacker that hurt a woman and child while stealing a car and high on drugs would we be cheering??
Well, would we???
Just think on that for a moment.
Or are we saying that it is really bad - whatever he has done/not done??
Maybe it IS racially motivated, maybe not.
A lot of people on your other post about what you would do if you were carjacked say how they would want to take one or two down - if you die it matters not one bit how it happens you are still dead - lets not get lost in the horror of this one murder .... he could so easily have been stabbed by a pi55ed off driver and still been equally as dead.

Dont matter what race...as Bruce Lee once said "i am a human being"....forget the race thing then...concentrate on the scum that could do that to a person, whether than deserve it or not.If i was to get revenge etc...i would make it quick to get the scum off the planet..i would not torture under any circumstances...any one who can say they could needs wiping off this earth immediately.

As reported in the Sun today the 3 lads who are GOING DOWN for murder because they attacked someone who asked them something innocent & when 2 of them fell off the tube platform, the others wouldn't let the victim up onto the platform & he was mown down by a train
That's the world we live in
BTW, the lads "cried" when found guilty. My heart bleeds for the f****ers
As it happens, the lads are Asian & the victim appeared Black but that is not the point here, the to$$ers would've done it to anyone anyway
I am very very glad that I moved away from "the big city". Won't be long before I'm over in Ireland either.

I actually agree with Pslewis on this one.
Not about the burnining, maiming bit etc(in no way justifiable no matter the skin colour) , but there does seem to be a lot of hypocracy when it comes to justice.
Here's an example
A 16 year old boy was shot in the back last year, by a disturbed farmer. The boy who was out with his brother celebrated his birthday only a few days before.
We automatically think Send the farmer down, how could he shoot a poor 16 year old kid in the back, when out for a birthday walk with his brother.
OR
16 year old Fred Barras was shot in the back last year, when trying to burgle Norfolk Farmer, Tony Martin. The boy had been trying to break into Mr Martin's house which had been burgled five times in the last year!
Now what do we think???
Same incident, different wording and we reach different conclusions.

Imatrukahs,
We know NOTHING about this case (yet) so you have no justification WHATSOVER to claim it is a race issue. Comments like that are illformed and can incite racial tensions.
Torture? Wrong, plain and simple.
Capital Punishment? Prevents re-offending
An eye for an eye? Absolutely.
Ever dog has its day? Oh Yes!!!!!!!

Devil..I SAID i feel it is a race issue, cause unfortunately there is alot of it going on at the moment.
I had to get the topic up,because it stunned me...that people/somebody could do that to someone. But then my world is a nice one.

Young Asian, savagely beaten then set alight to......i just think it's race related, that's all, like you think it could be many things...thats my opinion...unfortunately alot in Britain have a major problem regarding skin colour.

Ima,
Ok. Lets agree on what we can agree on, first. I agree that a lot of people have a problem with race. As a white, bald-headed, large build young man I guess I could easily be mistaken for a BNP supporter. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is further from the truth.
Our next door neighburs are asian and we get on well with them. Their kids are a bit noisy sometimes but I put that down to them being kids (not because they are asian)
Neighbours across the road (mam, dad, 2 boys, 1 girl) are malasian (sp?) (or is it Thai?) - Anyway again no probs whatsoever.
One of the boys was out playing with another kid (Mike) up the street not long after they moved in. Next time I saw Mike I asked him how he was getting on with his new friends". His reply was "He's no friend of mine. He's a p***!" How I kept my temper I never know. No doubt he got his views from his father.
So what's my point? Well, it has been said on many occasions that people write things on this BBS that they wouldn't say in person. I think that is true.
The point I am trying to make is that people should not try to judge a book by its cover.(I've tried my best to stop doing this!)
OK, so thats what we do agree on, that there is plenty of racism about.
Where I do not agree with you, though, is that simply because a victim is a certain race it means that the crime was racist. Lets wait for the facts.
On a final note, I hate discrimination at all levels and that includes positive discrimination. Having targets for the number of women MP's or the number of black police officers is just plain wrong. All positions should be fought and won on merit only. If 10 black people and 10 white people apply for 10 police jobs and the 10 black people are the best candidates, then appoint the 10 black people. Isn't that the fairest way to do it?
This must be my 'heavyest' post on scoobynet so far. Apologies for that but this is an issue that is really important to me.
