Driver left friend to die!
BBC NEWS | England | Crash driver 'left friend to die'
disqualified driver and likely over the limit - what a POS!
I expect he will get around 6 years, be out in 4 i guess - should be 20+ years for he has done! 6 years alone for driving whilst disqualified!

Number 1 - he wasn't his friend ...... b4stard!
Way back in the 70's I was out drinking with a friend, we were on our motobikes at the time, and - well, we had quite a few pints each.
The pub was right out in the sticks and we both left at about 12 Midnight after a lock-in ..... we raced around the country lanes heading back to town. I was in front and stayed in front, when I noticed my mate wasn't behind me.
Now, being the clowns we are, I fully expected him to be hiding waiting for me to reverse my tracks and he could then beat me home! Anyway, I rode back along the lanes ...... until I saw a headlamp beam facing skywards!
My mate had literally hit a tree and the bike was lodged up the trunk! He was dilerious and wandering about mumbling - he was bleeding badly.
I sat him on the side of the road ... no street lights and just by the lamp on my bike I could see he was in a bad way, I told him to stay put while I rode into the nearest village where there was a telephone box - rang 999 and returned to find him on his bike trying to get it going again!! It was smashed up!
Well, I sat with him there on the bank and awaited the Ambulance ... it seemed like for ever, but they arrived with the Police in tow.
My mate got taken away and the coppa came to me to see what happened, "You've both been drinking, haven't you?" he said.
"Yes" I admitted, I reckoned we had both had about 5 pints each and said that to the coppa. "You waited here with your friend even though you knew you would be breathalysed?" he asked. "Yes" I said .... "Isn't that what anyone would do?"
He said that a lot would have cleared off ...... but, I didn't and because of that he and his colleague have 'accidentally' left the breathalyser at the station .... they will follow me home. And they did - there are great coppas about as well ...

I'm normally the driver for my mates' and have 1 beer and that's it (some people may say even that is too much).

Full respect to SSup for what he did that time long ago.
I find it hard to imagine that someone can behave like that bloke. There always used to be a code of honour that you would walk through fire to save a mate. Looks as though even those sorts of responsibilities are going by the board now. I hope that he gets a very stiff sentence and it would be quite reasonable to remove his driving licence(which he has not even got back yet) permanently.
This sort of behaviour should be rewarded with a very heavy sentence not only as a punishment, but as a warning to others.
