Walked out of there today leaving my shopping on the conveyor belt because they are now refusing to give out normal free carrier bags
I refuse to pay 5p for resusable ones so i went to Morissons where they are FREE

Personally got no issue reusing, or buying these days. Not an eco warrior, but do hate the waste these days.
I will hide now, may the abuse begin.
That said, im still highly amuzed at the signs at the end of the checkouts in Tesco and Sainsburys, saying they have removed the carries, but please just ask for one.......
Then dumb a wadge of them cos the cashier cant be bothered to keep dishing them out.

They've been giving away the sturdy ones for a couple of weeks now, i've got a kitchen drawer full them
Never remember to take them back tho.
And they're a stupid shape as well, can't keep all my ready meals that say "keep flat" flat

I normally walk out because of the length of the queues.

When they switch off the 40 TV's playing 24/7 and get some eco refrigeration (news article last week stating they still use CFC based units) then I might accept their argument.
Hank, 'ready meals' Come on !

No i didnt mind polluting the atmosphere even more by having to drive up the road to Morissons
When i stop receiving sh1tty leaflets and junk mail and free weekly advertiser newspapers through my door then maybe then i may consider helping towards recycling.
But for now i am not paying for carrier bags on principle

the principal of looking like a cheapo and in turn angering anyone in the queue behind?
gee... ok...thats all ok then
if it was a quid a bag or something, then.. but FIVE NEW PENCE?!?!? and its REUSABLE, so tightwads here can throw it in the boot of the car and take it in next time saving himself a bob, and ergo not irking the poor souls queueing behind him.

Laziness is expensive. I feed a family of three for under £60, all fresh produce. The sis-in-law who works on the tills reckons the young, too-busy-to-cook, professional, stylish suit brigade average £100 with mostly ready-meals, and they are usually just a couple or even single. They probably supplement that with takeaways a couple of nights too.

And how many times do you go in for a loaf and milk and end up with £100 quids worth of stuff because of the BOGOFS and roll back offers you just cant resist, you then look like a daft **** stood there with your 1 carrier bag.
I use mine to put ferret poo in, otherwise it would cost me having to buy little white dustbin bags

But lasagne isn't, I made one form scratch a couple of weeks ago and by the time I'd bought everything fresh, was about 8 quid. Premium made of similar size, about a fiver.
But ignoring the socio-ecomonic concerns, they still don't lie flat in the bags!
