Mobile Phone Satnav
My SE C905 came with a trial of Orange Maps - keep getting error messages and the two times I've tried to use it, it's not worked (stayed stuck on where I started).
Do downloaded a trial of Wayfinder Navigator - not used it yet though.
Does anyone else use mobile based SatNav and can they recommend any?
Not having a lot of luck and although I'm in Cornwall, I'm nr Truro, a city, so hardly in the middle of nowhere!
Any hints/tips?!

Assuming you aren't using Assisted-GPS (where it uses a combination of GPS and network points to determine your position), but just plain GPS then there should be no data transfer.

Shaggy - both are on trial. Orange have become very cheeky and trying to "con" customers into signing up for stuff so I'm very wary.
Happy to pay for either if they work okay.
Looks like Wayfinder is the best so far. Wayfinder UK - Home
Not sure what OS it has but it's not Symbian!

It has wifi so I tend to fire it up at home (so using wifi) but am happy to pay small data charges (it uses AGPS to start up) for decent Satnav. I have a fairly good data package on my tariff.

Nokia's are the same, come with their own Satnav. I always get TT mobile 6 though with a separate Bluetooth GPS, that way it save's the battery and doesn't cost a penny.
... Just checked, you can't get TT on SE phones ditch it and buy a Nokia.
Saying that, the wife's got a C905 and the 8.1MP is fantastic!

I'm afraid I have complete hatred of all Nokia N Series phones after having one for three months. Symbian software makes me very angry...
The SE C905 seems very good. Just not got the hang of the GPS stuff yet.

I must admit the wife's C905 is alot faster than my N96. I'm the other way though I hate Sony Ericsson's with a passion, but there's something about that phone (and it isn't the video quality ).

I've got Igo8 on my HTC touch HD, but can get a copy of TT7 if I want. Igo is bloody good though, there are some nice touches like letting you know how long you'll be on the road you've just turned on to. It can flick between pedestrian and car as well, so it suits the warnings accordingly.

On my Orange contract Nokia N82 the sat nav worked out of the box. Nothing else needed and doesn't cost me a penny to use it. I assume its either Nokia or Orange sat nav software, but not noticed.
It works fine so thats all I'm bothered about.
