Default Anyone from Glasgow area? Some info pls...

I'm passing through in a few weeks and Glasgow's the last last chance I have to get a fill of the V-power good stuff before I hit the great unknown / plonk in the wilds...

Looking on the Shell site, it lists the following in the area:

Shell Woodlands (Woodlands Road) *
Shell Alexandra Parade *
Shell St Andrew's Cross (Victoria Road)
Shell Switchback (Bearsden Road)
Shell Shaws (Netherauld House Road)
Shell Fullerton (London Road)
Shell Stonelaw Towers (Stonelaw Road)
Shell Universe (Paisley Road West)
Shell Hillington *
Shell Lowmoss (Kirkintilloch Road)
Shell Arkleston (Paisley Road) *
Shell Garrowhill (Edinburgh Road) *

* = ones nearest to M8 I'll be on

They also do a POI file for Tomtom but these have been wildly out of date in the past A couple of years back I had a right old wild goose chase to find one that hadn't either been demolished or changed to Texaco.

Do the ones I've listed still exist and are any likely to be open 4-7am? Do they all have V-power and are any better than others? I guess some may be service stations on the M8 so prices could be higher (those old Yorkshire / Scots traits showing through )

Cheers,

Andy (Sassenach )

I looked at the Jock section but from the number of threads, I was expecting the tumbleweed to come blowing through...

Think my membership's lapsed a long time ago according to when I spoke to them at Autosport and I'm not rejoining for a question once a blue moon.

I've got a week or two before I go so there's no mad rush to find out today...

Where are you heading to? If you're going west then hillington, or the one before the erskine bridge would be best. The others that I recognize I wouldn't bother with due to having to head into the city a bit.

Aye - If you'd posted your question in the Jock section Simon would have moved it to general technical and infracted you for abusing his baby.

Which is why it's dead in there - Scots fed up with Webmeisters telling them what they could discuss.

All the Jocks are on SIDC - They will help you

Anyway - to answer your question - I wouldn't stop at a petrol station in Glasgow - your wheels will be nicked !

RB5 - Thanks for the info - I was leaning towards the Hillington one anyway but I'll look for the other one as we're going across the Erskine Bridge.

Jasey - more of a translation problem when I stopped before - the cashier was perfectly understandable but the other bloke arguing about his Irn Bru bottle deposit was from another planet! I'll have a look on SIDC.

Ta
