Default attempted break in at my house by me! help needed

Well i was fine watching the snow out the window of the house but my wofe dragged me out to the park with the little one

So after 30 minutes we walked back home, when i came to the front door i realised i had lost the keys!

So i had to break in, great fun i have read how to do this on the internet looks like i will save the day

So i "removed" the euro lock using the known method, took less than 5 seconds! I thought i was

I then realised that the door doesnt open after removing the lock there must be something else you need to do? I was not so cool and clever as I thought
and

So i had to gain entry using another method, so i now have a UPVC door with no lock in the middle but I cant get it open? I have access to both sides of doors but cant figure out what to do!

Anyone care to tell me or help me out so my wife stops giving me stick!

It's easy, not telling you how to do it though, security reasons!

how did you manage to remove the lock its screwed in from the door edge and wont pull straight out with out turning it slightly with the key. The door also will have a lever top and bottom that grips the door frame when you lift the handle and possibly a screw head that slides into a grove on the door frame when you lift the handle, the lock only works in the middle but also stops the handle from moving to pull the levers back in from the door frame

the locks are VERY easy to remove, i am told that normally once removed the door should be unlocked but not so!

You may find this hard to believe......but I locked my self out and couldnt get back in by simply closing the front door over.....the mortice was not locked but there was only a handle on the inside.

A neighbour help out and phoned a local 24hr locksmith, we agreed a £55 fee on the phone.

He arrived with his "gadget" and opened the door as quick as you could do it with the key.

I paid as agreed, but was stunned at how he did it.

I have since upped the security on the door as I couldnt believe how easy it was to get in.

And I obviously made several "gadgets" and handed them out to my friends, just in case they locked themselves out too. {only jokeing of course}

Sorry my 'one time at bandcamp' tale didnt help you at all.....
