Unhappy Loss of a true legend - John Martyn

John Martyn has finally paid up his dues.

A truly brilliant, uncompromising tour de force in the fusion world of folk, jazz and rock and roll.

Anyone who has seen him perform Solid Air with an acoustic guitar with Danny Thompson on Double Bass cannot fail to be moved by the loss of this genius.

Also, for anyone who has seen John live it is not surprising that the drink, drugs and a chain smoking habit have finally taken their toll.

He is an artist I have seen many, many times, sometimes sublime, sometimes awful, always interesting.

RIP John Martyn

Wink

RIP John.
I remember going to see him, I think in Sheffield, after hearing ONE track on a sampler LP in the late 60's, it was called "Dusty".

The LP was "You can all join in", and cost 14/-, (70p), it was an Island records sampler. I still have it somewhere. Traffic, free, Spooky Tooth, Wynder K Frog, loads of late 60's "progressive" stuff
