Donor cards
I never seen any of these to pick up.
I've been to hospital/doctors about 10 times in the last Two months and never see any.
They bleet enough about their not being enough donors and needing more but they fail to do simple things like put cards in wards/surgeries/waiting rooms etc...

So if you've done it you're moaning on behalf of those that haven't that you think might want to?

It's a tricky ethical issue....... having an organ donor card on you doesn't mean you have automatically consented to donate your organs!!
the only person who can consent (properly) to remove your organs is you !! if you are dead then you can't do it...because you can't speak or write.
Slightly different if you have other legal documents or you consent whilst alive...
Usually It's up to someone else then...a court or a Next of kin !
It needs a change in UK law to sort it out.

Serious issue..... I see lots of people on anti-rejection drugs with health issues I have to deal with who would like a transplant
"some fecking smart arsé"
I'll write that in my next set of clinical records LOL

I've still my original donor card from the 80's, it's paper thin and very fragile but lives in my purse all the time just in case. I'm also registered on the above site and I'm happy for any part of me to be used in any way once I'm dead. After all, I won't have any use for any of it
We need more people to be donors without a doubt and I find it hard to understand why a lot of people are reluctant to do it.

I can't understand why someone wouldn't want to be a donor, in fact I want them to take the whole lot - if I die in a 'normal' way (ie not on life support in hospital) and can't donate organs I want my body to go to medical science.

Even Hannibal Lechter would turn your liver down
I'm with Lydia here, I want my body to go to medical science too. I like the look of the body farm in the States that Stephen Fry went to as well. I don't care what happens to it as long as it serves a useful purpose

You're right though as I checked up today, if you're dead you can't speak or write AND did you know you can't even ride a pedal cycle either?
