I need a sniper rifle, any reccomendations?
Well i find myself needing a sniper rifle to take out the annoying field mice that are down the lane near my house. I can't go into the field to get them as i'd get all mucky This way i can sit on my roof and take them out.
The lane is nowhere near the home of that lady who got the restraining order against me btw, nowhere near.......
Anyway, i was thinking of a Barrat .50cal with a Leopold scope, do you think this would do the job on h, errrr them?

the air arms s200 is a very nice light precharged, and they can be fitted with a 10 round mag, they come with a silencer as well, and a all round very nice gun

I get a kill shot on bunnies every time at 25 yds with a .22 AA TX200 + scope. It's a lever charge so you never run out of gas Only PITA is the single shot, but all the mag capable .177 and .22 worth having seem to be cartridge powered.
BTW, doesn't sound like you'll be able to legally buy any rifle that'll take care of your pest problem at the range you're talking about. You'd be better off considering other means of control/eradication.

For longer distance bunnies; I would favour an accurised M14, glass bedded with standard funiture and a Leupold optical sight. Ive seen AIs but I havent ever shot one, so I'd stick with what I knew; and the M14 is accurate to well over 1,000 yards...

Hmmm. Im a little gun-shy and Im not that keen on a .308 so Id be less than keen on that bad boy. I did shoot a really hot loaded .44m once which had all the recoil you could want and then a sh*t load more! I unloaded it and handed it back along with the five shells.....
