Default Lower Back Pain

Have had some back pain for a while, which i have been going to a chiropractor about, and thought it was getting better.

However, whilst working on the car yesterday i have managed to put it out again, and am in a bit of pain.

I know lower back pain is a common problem, so what do you guys use to ease the pain?

Am back to the chiropractor on Wednesday, but could do with some advise in the mean time.

Am currently using a hot water bottle, icepack, and a gel.

Thanks mate, will try to ice on/ice off method this evening, and will start popping the pills tomorrow if no improvement.

The ice pack did seem to help last night, so fingers crossed.

(Need to be fit for 27th Feb)

Rest is vital whilst the pain persists. Ice will definitely help inflammation and soothe the pain. Physiotherapy is also benificial as soon as you are able to move again.

I got some Ibuprofen Gel, is that the stuff you have? Works really well in conjunction with heat.

i've used Deep Heat heat rub and Deep Heat patches (basically a large plaster that you put onto the skin and gives a nice slow heat release for 8 hours (Deep Heat Patch (4 Single Patches)*-*SuperLiving Pharmacy)

Have a look in Boots as they sell a lot of back treatments i also do quite a few exercises as well.

I spend many hours sat at a desk being a businessman doing business. I got lower back pain about 18 months ago... Sometimes the ache was more a sharp pain and this made me sad.
I went to my doctor who told me I had back pain but offered little else.
I went to a sport physiotherapist who pummelled me, pulled me, pushed me, squashed me and after 2 sessions I have not had a relapse since
I was also given various excercises that I didnt know about to do whenever my back might get tight in the future... It's all good.

So, no trendy gimmicks, just proper, scientific thingies... yes.

Yeah, this could be well worth a try.
You can get them from Lloyds Pharmacies for about £15.
I have had lower back issues for ages and this machine does the job.
Cheaper than physio and who wants to be taking pain killers if they don't have to?

Yeah, but what if you get lucky with the ladies?
That + cider = traction in intensive care!

I also use one of those electric head pads for your back that you can get from Boots. Its a great help and it helps to have your muscles all warmed up before you start moving about.
