Where will you be holidaying in 2009?...
Bearing in mind the pound is now worth ****-all against the Euro and the Dollar, and has slipped against almost all currencies! Could be as low as 0.8euros/£1 by summer some predicting.
This is making holidaying in Europe especially very expensive - £8 a beer is just too much!
I'm hopefully off to Poland (been before and loved it!), and Bulgaria for a mates wedding (anyone been? looks nice, and exchange rate still ok!)
Where are people heading? Is the exchange rate putting people off?

Probably Krakow - went at the end of 2007 for a long weekend and loved it. Nice people, brilliant food - just like a lot of other European cities really, but for some reason I expected the place to be quite run down! When travelling out to Auschwitz the train did pass through some pretty run down areas however...
I would certainly recommend it if you've not been! And VERY cheap!

The exchange rate won't stop us going abroad, booked most of our 2009 holidays already. Its going to cost more this year, so just need to make a bit more money. No real problem.

Not sure about summer yet if the currency is going to be worth sod all.
Doing a trip to the ring at some point regardless though.

What sort of attitude is that? Cut the positivity will you? It's not the SN way. You are supposed to wallow in your own self pity and bemoan the government for all your ills like so many others on here . Get a grip FFS

Why does nobody even consider the possibility of staying in this country for their holidays
I've lived, worked and holidayed in a fair few different countries over the years, and I have to say the UK takes some beating as a holiday destination, if only people are prepared to look

A few days in Nice in May taking in GP practice ( cheaper all in -flights,apartment, tickets etc ) than Goodwood FoS and sunnier hopefully.
Then down to Costa Del Sol for 2 weeks early Sept. Good rerally good deal on mega apartment to counteract price of Euro.

Either Lanzarote or France for some warm surf.
Life down here is a holiday so it's not a massive priority really.
