Music Memories that brings out emotion, be it good or bad......
I will always remember my Dad with: Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits (sadness)
My best pal in the world (he knows who he is) Never Tear us Apart - Inxs (happiness)
Off to think of a few more. The first one has busted my brain a bit

I always associate music with things going on in my life. It's that important.

Caledonia by Dougie MacLean.
Very much a song I can relate to and reminds me of when it was difficult for me I was away, but also reflects the story of my coming home.
It's much more the song than the singer, the Frankie Millar version is also good and there's a terrific version by Paolo Nutini.

I'm sure we keep repeating this thread. Or I'm dreaming. But it's still Run by Snow Patrol.
The reason, I have always preferred to keep to myself but I did let it slip on the John Travolta's Son thread

Bad - Music from a guy I worked with, a person everyone just likes, he was 21...
Good - Always reminds me of sitting in a bar in Calla Longa in Ibiza when I was 21 on my first holiday without my parents with my best mate just enjoying a few drinks.
Good - Touring around Europe with some mates, great fun.

Bonnie Raitt's version of Feels Like Home always takes me right back to my first date with the current MrsD
Hearing Barber's Adagio for Strings still brings a tear to my eye whenever I hear it. It was one of my Gran's favourite pieces of music and it was played at my Gran's funeral, the year before Platoon came out

Music is my outlet for whatever feelings I have, always has been. Can't list songs right now, as I'm feeling a bit emotional, and mixed up, but what I like varies alot, totally depending on how I feel.
I think for the mood I'm in right now, the songs I'd most likely listen to would just make me cry, so I might just go off to bed.

Good: Theme from Jamie and the Magic Torch - well, it *is* musical. Reminds me of being a kid. Most of the Madness songs, as it reminds me of the fantastic time I had at the couple of Madstock concerts I went to and the fun that was had.
On Her Majesties Secret Service - Propellerheads. Very upbeat and cheers me up no-end when I'm feeling down.

Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty was playing when I had my first 'experience'
Offshore by Chicane always makes me feel good
Gabriel by Lamb always makes me cry in a good way - our son was named after the song
Gorecki by Lamb is also very moving
Delerium is a fanstastic song that always moves me
Adagio is a real tear jerker (remember Platoon)

Don't Stop Believing - Journey: Some great memories of dancing around like a loon singing it in Vegas. Always makes me grin like a loon when I hear it now.
Bad memories though - Run, Snow Patrol - Too many funerals, I can't even listen to it anymore. Not that crap leona lewis version - that has no effect at all.
When September Ends - Greenday brings back some pretty crappy memories of that very period in 2004 when I was on my first Iraq tour.

That track still gives me goose bumps. Reminds me of a good friend from 20 odd years ago though, sadly, we're no longer in touch.
Will You - Hazel O'Connor: memories of my first g/f. Mostly good if I don't try and remember too much.
Whole of the Moon - The Waterboys: memories of a different g/f. Again mostly good and now back in touch after 10 years of no contact.
Curiously, I can't think of particular track that relates to the current g/f though there sure have been plenty of times when something would have been appropriate.
Not one track but a whole evening of Irish stuff (and plenty of Guinness) on St Patrick's Day, 2000. That was the last time Mum, Dad, my brother and I were all together. The old man died Easter that year.

This YouTube - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me - George Michael Elton John
Reminds me of my old mate Tom, who was the life and soul of the party, girls fell at his feet, but at just 19 he couldnt go on and decided to end his life with a rope around his neck. This was played at his funeral, and from that moment on when ever I hear this song I always remember 'Tom' in a positive and happy way, not negative at all.
Nearly 17 yrs on ...........

On a lighter note YouTube - Shaggy - It Wasn't Me (Music Video)
This video was the one that reminds me of my first Boxster.
It was the Boxster in the video that made me want to go out and buy one

How Come - Embrace originally by D12/Eminem.
Reminds me of an old friend Tom, who tragically decided to end his life about this time last year. Hardly a day passes when I dont think of him.
