They do drug test, I'm not sure if it's between competitions though. That notwithstanding all of the entrants will have been on something at some point. Mariusz to win with Poundstone a close second methinks.

These men are all members of IFSA - international federation of strength athletes and yes they are dope tested, both in and out of competition. The testing is done in accordance to the World Anti Doping Agency. Allegedly

Yeah but if your constantly building muscle and eating 5000+ calories a day, you'd soon gets big! You've got to remember some of these blokes are > 6ft 6 inches and weight 25+ stone.

5000 calories? During his competing seasons Jamie Reeves our own World's Strongest Man winner was taking in around 14000 calories. Yes these guys are constantly building muscle but very few people can get that big and that strong without chemical assistance. It's just not about the training, steroids elevate the metabolism so the body is able to ingest the huge number of calories.

On a slight side ways step away from the topic, is UK's Strongest Man different from Britain's Strongest Man ?? Glen Ross won UKSM but on Worlds Strongest Man they never mentioned him and just kept talking about Terry Hollands being Britain's Strongest Man

Glenn Ross had a fall out with the IFSA i think and so is not part of BSM or WSM anymore. Just as well, as he might have been strong but he was one hell of a pie eating fat ******! Bit of a poor advert for our shores.

I wonder how many times Kaz would have won having missed 5 years of WSM?

What a final! Best one I've seen.

I was actually planning to watch it in person this year. But after constantly emailing WSM in Jan/Feb/ March, as the events are in September, they could never confirm where it was being held, not even the country!

Couldn't go in the end anyway, as the missus fell pregnant and would be 8 months in september, so I wouldn't have wanted her to fly.

Seemed to have got caught on his top a bit aswell. I think he will be one to watch, as will the other yank, Travis Ortmyer or something.

Its not worth mentioning Big Tel. He's got so much potential with his natural strength, but I don't think his heart is in it.

Great final. Barring injuries Poundstone will take it next year if he wants it IMO. Awesome effort for his first ever WSM.
