I believe it's one of their mad challenges. They are ach given a budget and have to buy some motorised transport to travel from one end of Vietnam to the other with the final destination being in the sea LOL! Trouble is the budget they are given is only enough for two wheeled transport.

It will either be hilarious yet contrived or a complete flop - we will see!!!

That's just it, it's light entertainment and I think viewed in that context it is rather better than most of the other garbage on TV. Each to their own I guess.

It's always contrived - anyone who thinks their 'races' are really races is not seeing the big picture, but it's still quality entertainment all the same!

Waits for all the those moaners saying there wasn't enough car reviews, they wanted to know the boot space of the new Ford Model T or the fuel economy of the new Vauxhall Idontgetit!

Outstanding. At last Clarkson is converted to 2 wheels...

Of course the two wheelers among us know already that as much fun can be had from a Honda CB50 as from any other form of transport on 2 or 4 wheels... you just have to scale your expectations...

TBH I just sat slack jawed through most of it, stunned by the location, the kind weather (riding in pouring rain in shirt sleeves), the thriftiness of the people, the emphasis on small capacity motorcycles (of which I'm an increasingly big fan again) but mostly the change in attitude Top Gear is taking: Electrically powered cars, people riding huge distances on tiny motorbikes.... what next... walking...

I recently spent a couple of days there and would seriously recommend it for a holiday if you like something a bit different, it is a fascinating place.

As soon as I heard what they were doing I was as excited as Hammond. My first bike was a C50. 45mph top speed (down hill) and about £2 a week to run it.

I think we are all conditioned into bigger, faster, better but sometimes, small and crap is the best way to do something.
