Default Broken out of the box?

Bit gutted as ive just spent 2 hours moving carpet/furniture to set up a xmas present surround sound and i think it may be knackered!

Just wondered (before i take it all apart and shove it back in the box, somehow, whether it could possibly be a settings issue rather than a knackered item.

Basically, we got an all-in-one surround sound system, LG HT503TH but the DVD player doesnt want to play DVD's properly. Instead, after about 10 secs it drops parts of the picture/sound, ie, acts like a poor signal on a digital Sky channel when it goes pixelated.

Is there a chance ive not set something up right or does this sound like a knackered player?

Been having a bit of a play, trying to figure out what it is the DVD player doesnt like. Seems to throw a wobbly when anything Dolby is played. Anything else doesnt seem to have a problem, music or DVD's.

Its only when its something Dolby Digital or Dolby 5.1 goes in.

Does that mean anything in particular?
