Even though they were speeding (just not legally enforceable), what happens if someone got a ban through totting up and lost their job?? Or increased insurance premiums?

And what about those who lost money having to attend speeding awareness courses?

I don't get that one - if there were 40mph signs at roadworks then they should respect that if it really has a safety and common sense relevance. D

They might have learned how ****ing stupid it is to speed through roadworks? Seems like a fair trade-off.

No doubt they should have respected the posted limit even though it's not enforceable but just curious as to whether they've got any comebacks other than get the three points off if something worse happened.

thats exactly what i thought when i first read it - potential licence loss if they've accrued 12 points.

will they be able to claim compensation for this and the extra insurance premiums they've been paying after declaring the points to their insurer? i'd be well miffed at that
