Rear projection TV replacement screens
Can you get them?
If so are they expensive or cheap
Managed to pick up a Toshiba RP 42 inch TV for free as it has a split in the screen but it still works perfectly other than the split in the screen
Are they interchangeable between Manufacturers as ive seen a couple for sale very cheap that no longer work but have good screens

Not sure if you can now .A lot of places dont seem to be doing them anymore .
Had a problem with my Sagem 50 inch DLP rear projection and Comet could not fix it ,so they replaced with a Plasma .
I was more than happy with the Sagem pic quality etc ,but they said they dont do the rear projection now ,just Plasma and LCD .
When looking around I did not see many places selling them either .
Maybe get one from Ebay .Not sure .Good luck .

Thats what I was thinking of doing
Ive had the TV apart, and its only the front part that has the split, the other screen behind it is perfect
The image is pretty good too, now I have cleaned the bulbs (its a CRT projection system)
convergence was ever so slightly out so adjusted that via the remote control (that probably happened in transit to my house tbh)
The screen itself is just screwed on to the outer bevel, so replacing is an absolute doddle if I can get hold of a broken 42" one
The model is 42PW33P

As above, it will be a fresnel lens.
If you can obtain a non Toshiba replacement then you will need to cut it down to size symmetrically so that the centre of the lens is in the centre of the projectors light path.
Of more concern would be the condition/lifespan of the projector.
If it has lamps - bulbs are for gardens - then it will be LCD not CRT and you will need to look at the number of hours run and the condition of the LCD panel (s) to assess how much life is left and if it's worth the hassle of the repair.
If it has three lenses R,G & B then it will be CRT in which case the electron guns will probably not have much life in them and repairing is probably not worth the effort - rip the projector out and point it at a wall until it expires?
Good luck

Its definately CRT
I have two projectors anyway, so not much point in ripping it out, although that thought had crossed my mind, until I took the back of the TV off, and its all bare components
