john lewis - january sales, how much off??
hi all,
after my 2 year old samsung 32' isn't going to be repaired and the warranty company are giving me a cash offer, its time for a new tele. top of the short list at the mo is the 42' panasonic viera with free sat , currently up for £975. how much discount do you reckon will be up for grabs after christmas?
the cheapest i've found it elsewhere is £898, but with JL you get a 5 year warranty.
anyone remember what was on offer last year?

John Lewis will probably match the cheaper price - they are never knowingly undersold 
Give them a ring, say you will be there within the hour to pick-up, ask the Manager for the best price!

I got a 42" Phillips for £640 from Currys last year just before xmas. It was one of their 20% off days and they had put the wrong price on it by £100
Still a good buy though.
Seen 32" ones for less than £300 already this year

get down to your local JL and find out who the manager of the TV section is. have a chat and see what they are like .Then go straight to them on the first day of the sale and say you need a deal right there and then.
There is a Indian lady in JL at Brent cross that has a queue following her !!! is one **** hot sales lady and knows everything about home entertainment she also is good for deals as she knows how to spot the "real deals" and wont waste customers time etc.

Mines been ok but i take the point.
The fact it was priced wrongly gives a clue .They did try the "oh we have put the wrong price on so you dont get the 20% line" .
I just pointed out that was their problem not mine and got the discount .
I did leave the shop quite quickly though in case they changed their mind or the telly
