Send them a letter asking what they mean by the delay and saying that if they do not respond within a week that you will take legal action.

I've checked out the domain name. All looks legit (been registered 3 years) and somebody has made some effort on promoting the website so I sure there's no scam. Are you emailing using their webform or directly via normal email? Sounds silly, but we're web designers and from time to time the forms can play up or have messages caught in spam filters etc so it may just be they aren't receiving your messages.

Your guess is as good as mine, but they are all at the same address as the company you gave. Maybe they are private dentists in the same building, but its strange how they are all at the same street number. Give them all a try and see if they answer, or if they know whats happened to the other company if they are all in the same building.

The foreign voice you heard may have been Danish. The guy on the website is Danish and there is a mobile number listed to the admin contact for the website which also looks Danish, but a different name (could be a coincidence that the web design company and client are both in the UK and both Danish I suppose....?)

In that case talk to your credit card issuer, they should be able to get the money back for you.

sadly sounds like the situation iwas in a couple of years ago with a t'internet order

Ordered some guitar bits for Stu for christmas.. about £150 worth. They didnt turn up, managed to get hold of the company and they said due to order volume it was slightly delayed, and it would be with me within a week. 7 days later still nowt.. then the phones were just ringing and ringing, I sent emails, and even drove up the M25 to the so called shop where there was a notice saying 'closed for stock take..' also found them trading on eBay so sent a couple of ****ty messages through there

Found out they had gone **** oop. 3 years later and the administrators are still dealing with it.. the list of creditors and customers they owed mpney too was astounding!

They've started trading again, but with the blokes girlfirend as director or what ever it is

Have written off the money, as paid by debit not credt card, and judging by the list of monies owed I am just a small fish in a big pond of people waiting for money
