All the windows were boarded up and there was nothing inside it!

I've just been in to the one in Woking on the premise that someone at work was stupid enough to tell me it was 50% of everything.
I got there and the signs say up to 50% of everything, but I couldn't find anything with more than 20% off
With 10% off their CD's and DVD's, they're still about 15% dearer than play.com

The Associated Press: Woolworths ramps up retail discounting war
I wonder what kind of shop could take over the sites.

"DON'T BELIEVE ALL THE HYPE! - I have just been to my local Woolworths and it is nothing like they have advertised- yes all you see in the window is ALL STOCK and 50% but there is the usual 'up to' hidden away on the posters!
Once inside, it is very difficult to find anything at all with 50% off - almost everything is between 10 & 20% off. Furthermore, the items which Woolworths are best known for selling (DVDs, games, CDs, sweets) are only 10% off. Even with this 10% discount, my local ASDA store is still cheaper!"

So just another misleading lewis troll post then. How typical, how boring...

Put simply, stock can be easily sold at the same price as they bought it to other traders in that sector.
Nobody in their right mind would sell items for less than cost value (except for the end consumers ). The exception is for tat which no other trader would want to buy (i.e woolworths branded stuff, and stuff nearing its sell by or easily spoilt in transportation).
Common sense really.
