Default BlackBerry Storm - a few weeks on....thoughts?

OK then - had a play with one yesterday. Got my own thoughts, but has anybody else played with one/got one yet?

Happy? why? Annoyed? why?

I've got my own thoughts, but before I potentially take the plunge on an 18 month commitment, I'd love to know what the other comments are!

Thoughts?

Dan :-)

Top topic mate, I just got rid of my Iphone and I was thinking about one of these.
I found my Iphone was always property of Steve Jobs and never really mine, Like to know if the blackberry is a bit more versatile?

Vodafone have exclusivity for 6 months and then the other networks can sell it.

Fair enough. On the flipside, even if iphone was on different networks, I still wouldn't go for it
I'm on Voda anyway - been pretty happy with them for the last few years. cheap contract and good service. More than I can say about the other networks I've been on

As you say though, limited exclusivity to a network doesn't mean anything
really

What's more interesting is for those looking at one, or have got one, is it the sort of phone that you could live with for the contract term?

I've had mine for a few days. I love it apart from a couple of significant issues.

Firstly, the battery life is appalling. I've reduced the screen resolution and it seems to have improved slightly (Still very poor though).

Secondly, I cannot get it to not give an audible alert when I receive an email. I've read and re-read the manual etc and cannot get it to stop dinging when I get an email bar muting everything on the phone.

Apart from those issues a great phone. Much better than Apple's effort IMO and blows the SE Experia X1 out of the water. Fact.

I was put off the Xperia because, amongst other things, you have to use a stylus.

The Storm is fine for the sausage fingered.

Ahh top stuff, that was the one thing that was making going to stop me moving from an N95 to it. It was either between the storm of the N96. As i know my sausage fingers can work an N96.

I have just got the bold and it is awesome, although battery life is less than my 8800.

No touch screen but imo that is a plus side.

I have to admit - after annoying the sales woman in the Voda shop for about an hour, I do understand what in particular Stephen Fry is saying.

It IS slow.
It IS clunky.
The screen seems like it will break at any time - particularly as it has that moveable glass top panel - yuck.

I've got to say that as a principle, the Storm looks fantastic. Sadly, let down in the execution I find it comparable to the launch of the N70 - the greatest POS ever.

all IMHO
