Question Anyone in Phone system Maintenance???

Hi All,

We are looking at a new Software based IP Phone system and I am confused about the maintenance costs on the system.

Does £3K per year sound about right for cover of the server, the software and 30 handsets?? If not what do you think we should be paying??

That doesnt include and line or call costs purely maintenance and administration of the system.

Cheers in advance

Sounds a pretty reasonable deal to me. Going back a number of years now but I think we paid something like £1700 to look after a 12 handset system. We look after it ourselves now though. No point paying someone to do a job that you can do yourself

Whats the level of cover? 24/7?

Are all the handsets covered, the server hardware?

It does sound a fair bit for a software based system and 30 handsets....I'm guessing this is a major brand of system? Siemens/Cisco etc.

davegtt.

"Looking after" and replacing faulty parts/handsets for the next day are slightly different.

No its not a major brand.

The cover covers:

H/W and software on Server (XP OS on 1u Server Hardware and PBX Software)

H/W Cover for the handsets. (They break they send a new one)

All labour for call outs

All remote administration

Cheers

What is really going to break? They are pretty bombproof these days and maintenance money is easy cash. The handsets are maybe the weak link. You can buy them from a number of places as I am sure Davegtt can tell you better than I can.

Sounds like reasonable cover to me. Who is quoting you for the maintenence if you dont mind me asking?

davyboy, having a Siemens Hicom and being a Siemens partner I dont think we need to worry too much
