Default ING drops mortgage again

Much to my surprise, ING just dropped the mortgage rate to 3.89% (I'm on their standard variable). Amazing.

On the downside, the savings bank I was with (Kaupthing) is now ING as well so that rate isn't very good ...

Im on that mortgage aswell. Ive been through my paperwork and theres nothing that says they will charge a minimum interest rate so if the BOE comes down to 1% then good times!!!

On a serious note, i hope people are using the discount in monthly payments wisely instead of treating them as additional beer tokens. Im sure there a chinese proverb that has some relevence......

What are you waiting for... take on more debt to buy things you don't need.

Why would anyone want to do that

Interest Rates *will* go up again, my intention is to put the money saved to one side to build up a buffer for when they do

And down to 1.89% from today. They must be losing lots of money at that rate.
