Want to build/buy a 3 piece like Top Gear
My other half and I want to have a three piece with a difference and thought the TG suite would be quite cool.
Now where to buy or build such items is the question...
Any help or advice would be welcome

We want the table too. Not sure which engine would be best for that either. All we do know is that we want the whole set.
Maybe a boxer engine could be used

Just buy a scrapper V8, that should do it.
My mate bought a knackered one for a few quid and spent 6 months making it look pretty.
Looks awesome in his living room

I helped a mate do this a few years before Top Gear did it.
He was single at the time and wanted something different for his "lads pad".
Used a set of black leather seats out of a wrote off Senator or someting similar (too long ago for my memory) which cost him around 100 quid.
He sourced some nice stainless steel tubing (foc) which I then tig welded to make the frame to mount the seats on.
When it was done and the stainless frame all polished up it was wicked.
About 2 years later he sold the set on - not sure how much for but he gave me 250 quid out of the proceeds!

Mates doing this with his now scrap V6 out of his Jag (blew the bottom end).
Saying that, I did design him a frame to use the back seats out of another S type (same as his) for a sofa.

I've got a pair of leather Calibra seats in my shed which are gathering dust if someone would like to use them. I was considering making a frame for them to use in my spare room (where all music equ. is) but haven't the means nor hands to do so now...

Sorry, he has all the paper designs. Its quite simple to do though, if you can souce the bits.
Basically it was all 2 inch steel tube, bent into 2 inverted u's forming the end, with 2 cross bars forming the from and back cross bars.
Into these 1" box section was inserted and welded to form the latice work for the seat runners to be fitted to.
Whether the finished frame is chromed or painted it up to you.
Oh and 1 note, if you make the 2 U's longer than you need by 6 inches (extend them behind the seats) you can slide the seats forward and let them recline!! if you use front seats. If your using rears, you need to look at the donor car to see where they support them.

They have a very strong base and back with built in headrests and arm rest so making a frame is easy.
May be hard to find a good drivers seat mind
