Seen 1 from the 80's where an Audi Quattro used the co-driver as ballast after they lost a wheel!
Sebastien Loeb did that in Germany (I think?) a few years ago, driving on one of the road sections with Daniel Elena hanging out of the back of the car because he was missing a front wheel!
I have done that before, on my trackday 205. Granted, it was only for the length of the return-road at Crail drag strip. I sat on the slam panel and tweaked the throttle as my mate drove the car, crouched down in the seat to see under the open bonnet.
Wasnt fun. No way would I do it at any speed or for any length of time!
Once back in the carpark, I used my shoe laces to fix it. I tied one end to the throttle linkage and ran the lace out the edge of the bonnet, which I left slightly open and in through the drivers window, which gave me a basic hand-throttle. Drove it back to Aberdeen from Crail. It was fine at speed on the open road, but going through the gears was a little jerky, and roundabouts involved steering with my knees!
