Sky Digital and Moving

Going to be moving soon and the new houses doesnt have a mini dish.
Whats the best (cheapest ) way of moving the satellite
1) DIY the mini dish myself at new house - I've put up anlaogue dishes but the mini dish is supposed to be harder to DIY ?
2) Pay local independant Sat guy to install mini dish (Either new or my current one) - likey cost ?
3) Cancel existing contract and take a fresh one with £40 install at the new address ?
Any one tried these ?

Its a disgrace that my local insatller wants to charge £85 plus VAT , when SKY do it for free!!! And its only a 10minute job!
I think you'll find it impossible to tune without a digital tuning meter. (I've tried!)

Thats a joke. When the bloke came out I got him to install an extension into the main bedroom, that was only £50 all in, you get second remote etc. Just call Sky direct and get it booked in, there was a 1-2 week backlog when I moved (last July).

I moved into a house that had a dish. Sky told me that it is their policy that people leave the dish when they move, so i didnt have to get one fitted. It was just connected up and i got the box fitted.
At the mo i think its a free dish and decoder from the Sky offer.

Thanks Guys.
Looks Like I'll phone Sky and ask for the free move. - At least I get to talk to one of the lovely souding scottish girlies in their call centre.

P.S. By the power of unverisal remote with radio remote sender and an extra run of UHF cable back to the loft, I can already change channels anywhere in the house, and view the sky box on any of the TVs and I didnt have to pay sky for the privelege. (All of the above is allegedly )

If you have ever wondered why your local installer is so much more expensive, it is usually because they will try and put the dish somewhere discreet, ie the roof. Sky's own installers won't put them on the roof typically. So if you want a nice clean job without the cable comming in through the window frame etc, go with the local guy.
