Info needed on phone socket wires!!!
Not my house but mrs' daughter has by accident ripped the wires out of its socket
as I understand - brown, blue, green, orange wires
I have googled it but i've not found a solution
i'm only able to txt her to try different configs but getting nowhere
any ideas guys

Is it the main BT box? Get her to look at the config in another socket. If she copies a slave box exactly into the master or vice versa, her phone should work but she won't get a dialing tone or a ring ring, depending if she copies slave to master or master to slave. Go down to Maplin tomorrow and buy a crone tool. The Maplin version has a phone socket wiring diagram on the instructions

Aimed at broadband but they give the wiring colours and how they're all connected.

If it's the master box, it's illegal for you to mess with it. Having said that, the incoming actually only uses 2 wires, and the internal uses a third to carry the ringer.

for the socket, you need to have a wire in connection 2 and connection 5 It is usually moulded in the plastic which is which. Make sure other sockets match so as mentioned above get her to look at another socket.
