Question How long before wasps are gone?

We've had a wasps' nest outside the kitchen window this year, they haven't bothered us so we haven't bothered them. Apart from the odd one or tywo that somehow get into the kitchen, I think through the space where the extractor fan pipe goes out. Good fun practising your Andy Murray serves on them with a flyswat

I know that they all die off during the winter, so when will they be gone and when can I go up into the roofspace and remove the nest?

Buzzzzzzzzzz
Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Buzzzzzzzzzzz. Buzzzzzzzzzz.

Buzzzzzzzz, Buzzzzzzz Buzzzzzzzzz.

That was what the chief wasp just told me.
I asked a couple of others who said Buzzzzzzzz buzzzzzzz buzzzzzz buzzzzzz but am not to sure tbh.

But look on the bright side buzzzz buzzzz buzzz.

Cheers
Wasp

If you are noticing them flying about at this time its becasue they mate about now (well Sep - Nov). The workers will die from the cold soon, but the queens (there might be a few) will look for somewhere warm to live for the next 4 - 5 months... so now is a good time to seal up anything that they might try and use to live in for the winter. You wont see them again now till March.

We had a hornets nest last year - think wasps x 4 in size.
Not nice - RentoGenocide did the trick though.

I used some sprey wasp killer... aerosol can (of foam) with a good 5m range... sorted my wasp nest out in a night..

Pulled it out of the eaves about 2 weeks later... all dead as a dodo.

Queens? Hmmmm, the ones coming in now are pretty large.

But Mr Flyswat soon "serves" them their dues, heh, heh!
