I want to change my bathroom and some bits in the kitchen, I have had 3/4 companies around who promised to post me a quote. I have waited and waited and not one has shown up.

Is it just me or does everybody have to chase companies for quotes?

I usually don'y bother chasing if the company can't be bothered, but i'm running out of people to ask

You'd have thought with the economy as it is that they'd be fighting for your business.

I had the same with roofing 18 months ago - no one could be arsed as they were raking it in with all the work.

I'm in construction and to be honest, nearly every builder, plumber, plasterer, decorator etc that I know, have loads of work.
I've got work up to June next year.
It seems that people aren't moving house so they are renovating instead.

Still, it's no excuse for not returning calls or quotes.

Had the same a while back, had a £900 job to give someone (cash) to plaster two walls and a ceiling, and lay a small patch of floor tiles, couldn't give the job away.


The amount of people that could not even be bothered to return calls was sickening.
