Default Severn Trent Water are having a laugh!

I recieved my water bill today, from Severn Trent Water. I opened it, checked the amount and thought it was reasonable.

scoobyvirgin then came round to my place on our way to the pub.

He told me that he's just got his bill today too. And the due date is tomorrow.

I then checked my bill - it's the same!

Surely they are taking the **** giving only 12 hours notic to pay a bill!

Even if you pay over the phone or on the internet, it tells you it takes three days to get processed!

WTF are they playing at? I can easily pay for it tonight, but the money won't reach them on time, but I feel sorry for the old folk who only got the bill thids afternoon/evening and cn't get out to pay it until tomorrow morning at the earliest.

Are they just trying to issue people with late payment fees to bump up heir profits?

It's not only that, how can they charge you for standing water? If you don't use it they still charge you, it would seem by the bill. Grrr rip off gits

Thank **** I have one of those pay weekly cards. £2.58 currently a week for Severn Trent and about £4.58 a week for Anglian fresh rates.

Must be something wrong there if they literally give you under a day. Look in the T&C's and be making a complaint. Whats the date at the top of the bill when it was posted out?

I ask as I recieved a bill from BT recently. Was sent on 'x' date and I recieved it on 'y' date - 5 full workng days later Left me 9 days to pay the bill (which I haven't yet - can't afford it)

Shower of $hit some of these companies.

I like how you pay to have water drained from your property...you essentially pay the water companies to have their raw materials, then you buy it back

Nope living in Scotland there are no water meters as far as I know, we just pay a standing charge on our council tax, so I can use as much as I want, well we do have millions of gallons of the stuff!

If ALL your rain water (from roofs) goes into soakaways and not into the drains, you can claim a rebate.

At my last house I found this out. Bit of a bugger 'cos I had one small section of garage roof that sent the water into a drain so I couldn't get the rebate

We just have water rates £7 a week and use as much as we want! Hose pipe ban whats that?

I must admit though £7 a week is naff all as we are a family of 5 in my house and the shower is non stop same with the washing machine and dish washer plus the power hose!

Thank your lucky stars you are not with South West Water. The most expensive water company in the land by far.

Is South West water the same as Thames water? If so, that's owned by an Aussie bank, with reputations of asset stripping.

Sorry I don't know, I think they are owned by some foreign company or other though.

They use the excuse of having to maintain the bathing beaches to charge the residents such high bills,

Les
