No, not the domestic violence sort - Stella Artois.
Just been shopping and noticed they've slyly reduced its strength from 5.2% abv to a mere 5%.
Just thought I'd let you all know

There was an article in the times a couple of weeks ago saying that they planned to increase its strength to 5.5%. Are you sure you read the right bit of the can or did you buy a grey import at the dodgy polish supermarket?

For an Artios I prefer the Eiken for a start. Still struggle to find a better drink than Grolsch. Red Stripe is a favorite too Quite like some of the Polish beers too like Lech and Zywick

I'm not a fan of it from cans, but have form for doing well over a gallon of it on the odd occasion!
San Miguel lowered their lager strength a few years back too, I recall.
I must get out more....

Grolsch is just dirty and wrong!
Zubr is lovely, but crazy juice as it's 6% but tastes like 4.5% and blows your **** off

Like playing in a 6 a side cricket tourney as wicket keeper. Ended up making a multitude of errors in the semi-final causing our team to lose including getting removed from the game for sledging a 12 year old. My ejection probably helped our team in the end though
Still I accept no responsibility for this as the clubhouse had Red Stripe on draught

Their 4% offering is excellent, but not as crisp as Beck Vier...
To reduce Stella from 5.2% to just 5% means I will have to drink more of the stuff before I beat the wife - very sneaky, because the only alternative would be to drink the same amount as before and not beat the wife, which is just not on

The Pietermans Artois was a test for the market to see if the could get away with reducing the strength of regular Stella Artois.
Personally, if I'm going to drink a weaker version of a lager I'll go for Beck's Vier.
Other than that, I'll stick to Carling, Peroni or Corona.
