Yes. You need to get PAC code from Orange. PAC stands for ‘Port Authorisation Code’. It’s what allows your current service provider to transfer your number to your new service provider. Your current service provider must give you a PAC (or tell you why they can’t give it to you) within two working days.
Your PAC is valid for 30 days.
If you are staying with Orange, than as well you can carry your old number to the new sim. Just tell them on phone, and they will shift it for you to the new sim within a few days.

Its not a crime until you can prove its not just lost.....
You can get a reference number from your local police (lost property ref) - or you may be lucky that someone's found it and handed it in....
if it hasn't been handed in, however, and has been "adopted" by someone - then you can report a crime.
Get it blacklisted - would then be worthless in this country, other than for spare parts.

Use this site https://www.virtualbumblebee.co.uk//.../BodyFrame.asp to get a reference number for the 'phone insurers etc. it's not necessarily been stonlen and so if that's the case then you're most likely to be pointed in this direction anyway.
I've had to use it a few times , quick and easy
