Police undercount violent crimes




The Home Office has admitted that some police forces have been undercounting some of the most serious violent crimes in England and Wales.
Officials said some crimes that should have been classed as grievous bodily harm were recorded as a lesser assault. As a result, violent crime in the second quarter of this year has increased 22% compared to the same period last year. Policing Minister Vernon Coaker said crime figures could still be trusted.

So the police are undercounting violent crimes, but the minister says we can still trust the figures.

Violent crime is a lot worse than the government figures would have you believe. But as long as they can hide it by changing the recording standards then they are happy

The reason there's a 'discrepancy' is because what constitutes a GBH & ABH was changed by the government, but they failed to pass this info on at the time.

That sort of thing is and always has been part of their mantra. They have lied to us and the house for eleven years, why should we believe them now?

The worst part is that I tend to believe NOTHING they say.

That's how bad things have got.

Its such a shame that we expect to be lied to.

It reminds of a quote I heard once that said - 'Its incredible so many of us are shock by honesty and so few by deceit'.
