Right, having tried Money Supermarket and found most of the quotes it comes up with to be lies (one was over £100 more than what was quoted) does anyone have a recommendation for good quality cover at a decent price?

We don't want to go mad but we don't want to find everything is 'wear and tear' heh.

Got mine (only contents) with First Direct, it's about £20 or sommat and covers £50k of contents, with proper replacements if accidental damage etc. Had to replace a couple of beds 2 years ago and got all the money back for them even though I had no reciepts and no one came to check. £1500 was sent out to me very quickly, so me and my lodger both had a bed each to use, rather than the bath/floor

Not sure what others are like but I've had no probs with mine at all, not sure what their buildings cover costs or what it is like policy wise.

Follow this nifty guide: Cheap Home Insurance: Speedily compare 50+ quotes plus possible cashback...

Got mine down from £190 to £150, then by going through a cashback site (Topcashback) got another £45 off. So saved £85 in total With Liverpool Victoria by the way.

I went with morethan, quote was more expensive than our renewal but, got £80 cashback through quidco which then beat every quote we'd had.

I went with the aa in jan this year, cheaper than previous and better cover. If you set you excess higher then it will reduce your premium

Try E-home too. As I've got my car insurance through E-car, they offered a great deal through the home insurance sector too, but I couldn't afford it.

I'm sure as they are internet based only, they could come up trumps for you.
