If you have some spare cash in the present climate, what good deals are there, or good ways to make the most of it

1. Get an extension, with a building recession on the way, you should get a good price.
2. Buy a used car, the market is poor.
3. Wait maybe another year and hope to get a cheap property.(without the need to sell one first)
4. Invest in shares, with interest rates on the way down, its a good time to get in.

Any other ideas?

I think my investment of buying an impreza from subaru last year may, on balance prove not to be an effective investment.

still it makes me smile when I drive it- looking at the cash in the bank didn't.


on a serious side- home improvements. builders are more available as housing developers stop building. housing market will improve, as will property values. just gotta ride it all out.

The Cayman Islands is the place to be, I moved my money out of Iceland just before the Russian mafia decided to do the same thing. In case anyone doesn't know why the Icelandic banks really failed:

They were being used by the Russian mafia to launder huge amounts of ill gotten cash, the only way that the Icelandic backs could keep this entire system afloat was to offer amazing interest rates to overseas investors, buoyed up on the profits they were making from their money laundering exercise. Then without warning the Russians switched to the Caymans and now have vast reserves of clean cash sitting very securely.

You have to ask "how" the Icelandic banks could ever have offered interest that high in the first place, and above is the answer.
