kitchen recycle bins, what have you got?
i have just ordered a triple recycle pedal bin and was wondering what everyone else is doing to make the new bin system easier.
i am really confused with the new system of disposing your rubbish, is it the same for everyone else?

We get a blue box and a blue bag. The bag is for *some* plastic containers (milk bottles but NOT the lids ... ? Que ...), cans, etc. I just stick paper in the box. But you have to seperate cardboard and paper .....
Not too bad. If I'm confused I just put it in a normal bag and landfill it.
Oh, and bottles go in the blue bag/box as well. Though if there's no room you can just put them into separate bags and leave them at the side.

PS: I do NOT put batteries in the bin though. They get put in a separate pot until I find the time to recycle them.

I have a bin for general waste with the black bag that everything goes in but anything recyclable goes in a carrier bag on the side and gets put in the recycle wheelie bin outside when the bag is full.

We have:
Inside the house:
A pedal bin for all rubbish which isnt recycling
And then when we have food waste, it's normally a trip up the garden path to get rid of it, but now the cold weather is approaching, it will be deposited in a ickle green bin, and then emptied once it us full.
Outside we have:
A green wheelie bin for food scraps, garden waste etc
A black wheelie bin for non-recyclable stuff
2 black boxes for plastic and tins ( not including yoghurt pots etc)
1 green bin with a black lid for clean paper and cardboard
and they are saying about adding another bin for glass!! god know where we are supposed to keep putting these boxs etc

I was in Spain recently. They empty the bins between 4 and 5 days a week (at about 5am) to avoid hygiene problems. I assumed that this would cost a fortune in 'rates' but apparently it is really cheap.
When I told a local what we have to put up with he quite obviously just didn't believe me and thought I was taking the **** out of him.
Presumably we will end up having a massive health scare with something like bubonic plague rearing it's ugly head again and then the government will find a way to charge us even more money to sort it all out and tax us to the hilt to do it.
