Massive police hunt in Derby
Helicopter deployed to catch this hardened criminal
BBC NEWS | England | Derbyshire | Police helicopter in scooter hunt

The cost of the search could probably have bought 10 new scooters for the old geezer! But unfortunately our police farce would rather **** about doing that rather than real work which might be a bit dangerous!! Only in Britain eh!

"This thief might also have committed other offences so we wanted him caught and the best method of searching we have in the police in open spaces like parkland is the helicopter."
It seems the Impreza wagon is no longer the getaway vehicle of choice for the ram raiders.....
We can all now rest in our beds!

I live near Ripley which is where at least 1 plod chopper for Derby is based. Damn thing is up in the air most night, just what you need a 3 am is a chopper hovering a couple of hundred feet overhead. I suspect much of it is training, why not get a plod volunteer to stand in a field and go find him rather than disturbing the rest of us?
