After reading the many recomendations on this BBS ( Mostly to do with Halle Berry mind ), I went and got this film yesterday...
Now although I was pretty hungover, and dozed a little - generally I do 'get' most films I watch - I mean who doesn't know who Kiazer Sausee is !!! ?? ...
Any how the point bein can someone explain what the f$%k was all that at the end, and how was there three john Travolta's - dead one, funny hair one and main one ..
etc etc .
All help is appreciated, its doing my swede in !!!

well he didn't get in the helicopter if that helps so he didn't get blown up by the rocket launcher thingy...
Was an odd film, not sure which was better (less worse), that or Vanilla Sky....

The way I saw it was...
Travolta had killed the real Gabriel person at some and assumed his identity (not sure whether they were just a good likeness or he'd taken more drastic steps). He kept the body as you never know whent these things come in handy.
He never gets in the helicopter but assume that it will be blown up by someons so ensure the original dead body is in it. Its found and identified as Gabriel and he has disapperead very effectively 'cos hed effectively dead.
Then we see him later with a new identity (silver haired) actually dong what he said he did i.e. kill terrorists.
The whole point being I think - how far is it morally acceptable to go - should a few be sacrificed in order to protect the many.
Personally I ignored the underlying moral issues and enjoyed the TVR and Halle Berrys baps

Mr Smith,
Excellent... Thank you !!!
I was a little dissappointed that you didn't see a full blown Tuscanesque straight line blow everything away ( as in very fast 'cos they did 'blow' everything away ! ) type bit - but hey !!
But what was all the DEA stuff with Ms Berry - LOL Nice babs !

I saw it last night for the first time too.
I got the ending etc etc, but how in eck did those massive SUV's keep up with a TVR? I know it's only a film, but in real life John Travolta should have had to wait for 10 mintues for them to catch him up.
Nice sounding car though. I wonder how many TVR's will now sell ni the USA?

Its not type approved and never will be. Californian legislaters would commit suicide if such a dirty noisy car were ever driven through LA
Hence the car in the film being on UK plates.
Apparently, they will let you take a car like this into the US, provided its not for long and you take it away again, very soon afterwards. Or let them crush it
3 Tuscans were used in the filming and the one that has all the bullet holes was in a Newmarket (?) TVR dealership.

A friend of mine has just sold his Tuscan, He had a BoxsterS found it a little boring, bought the Tuscan - loved it, until bits started to go wrong and the wet weather set in and is now getting a new M3 ...
But for sheer thrills, I don't think that there is all that much in the price bracket that can compare - One thing that I found really funny, was on the dip stick they have actually carved the max and min with a sharp object .. Very kit car like !
Also the ashtray - what a piece of art you got to love Mr TVR ( his name escapes me ! )Peter Wheeler - Remembered for devoting that much to smoking..
