New Hound Time

New Hound Time
Some may remember that on April the 16th we had to have our old dog Molly put to sleep aged 15, this is her,
After waiting a while and putting the word out that if anyone had a Dog needing rehoming we would be interested, a while back a friend mentioned that some relatives of hers were retiring early to go and live on a boat and were looking to rehome their Collie as try as they might he wasnt keen on a seafaring life and much as it pained them they would have to rehome him.
So, we are picking him up on the 26th of October to come and stay with us for while, if he is happy and doesnt do anything untoward then he will be staying. We chose then as the kids are off school and I have booked some time off, I would have gone and got him Tomorrow but I need to contain my enthusiasm and wait.
His name is Bob, he's a six year old Border Collie and apparantly quite a calm example, but does have his moments.
Just hope it all goes to plan

Nice dog J4CKO, hope all goes well, you can't go wrong with a Border tbh, only problem I can foresee is he'll be drive you nuts as he'll constantly want to learn more (if you know what I mean) Great dogs, good luck

He'll be constantly wanting to heard you all into one room!
I had one about 10 yrs ago and got him when he was about 7. He was the perfect companion but a little touchy and eager to guard.
Not a fault, but a quirk. Grumbly ****** too! Loved a can of beer too on a sat night. Used to wait by the fridge for his treat and would howl at Match of The Day if he hadn't had his bit of beer.

He is a lovely looking boy, Jacko. I hope everything turns out well with him.
Recently,we have been tentatively looking for another pooch after we lost Ben in May. It still doesnt feel right but I dont think it ever will 100% tbh, but the house isnt the same without a dog. We have a number of someone who may have some pups and we had it in mind to phone this week..

He is already being reffered to as "Bob Barker", shamelessly pinched from the 80's tv programme ALF, it was about an Alien puppet type thing and the neighbours dog was called "Bob Barker" after the American Quiz show host.
Why shouldnt a Dog have a surname ?

We were going to re-home an 8 year explosive sniffing Border Collie, but on his second visit he bit me, still have the nasty scar.
He was then rehomed with a family with kids and he bit one of them and put him in hospital.
But, the dog was not used to being a house dog or being with a family.
But we tried anyway.
Good luck with Bob, he looks a sweetie.

Great dog
From experience you'll be taking plenty of long walks to tire him out and just try to keep him out of any bad habits, they can be quite dominant so just make sure he knows that you're top dog once in a while and you'll be fine. Plenty of toys too as they get bored easily but they love to have stuff to play with.
