Poor bloke! crappy thing to happen to someone with such talented hands. he was my idol growing up.
Sort of know how he feels. I damaged my hand badly in a fall and had to give up teaching art. I can't grip a pencil any more.

It really is sad news. Such a talent now trapped by his own body. It must be awful to not be able to do something you love because of infirmity or illness

Well he has lived a full life and touched the hearts of millions, it could be worse.
Still a shame, but we have to stop some time.

A real shame because that man inspired me to become an artist and I always watched his work and programs without fail

I used to watch him when I was younger and as already stated he was getting on even back then. Always enjoyed the programme and Morph was the highlight. A sad thing to happen to him.

Very sorry to hear about his problems. I loved watching him and enjoyed his friendly personality as well as his work.

Well I hope someone can do something 'Stephen Hawking'-like that may allow him to draw on a pc or something.

My gosh - I didn't even know

As some may expect, this guy was a real inspiration when I first started taking my art work seriousy when I was about 4/5.

Shame, but he's certainly done a good job over the years.

Very sad, indeed.

He had enjoyed creating for a long time, and he carried on with his creativity until his very old age. I have seen many a people lose their skills, profession and ability to do what they did, due to some accident or health problem. Many at very young age too. As long as their coping mechanism are strong, such talents will carry on creating one way or the other. Or, cope with much support. May his worthy creations, fan base and fame offer him the strength to cope with the loss, I wish

Check out some amazing artists here. They are not always some born artists, but they have got involved in art, and art itself has become their coping mechanism>

RIP? Not wishing to be rude, but unless I missed something he's not dead, he's just been forced to give up art at 83 due to a couple of strokes. Nonetheless it's very sad news indeed, used to love his shows as a kid.
