1999 and 2002
1999 because United won the treble and I had a fantastic year at School.
2002 becuase I left education, got a job and discovered going out on the beer. I was also single at the time. Fat bird skinny bird... didn't care, as long as it had a pulse and a fanny - good days

If I had to commit to one it would probably be 1991, first year at University.
So exciting becoming properly independent, also consumed a lot of beer, saw a fair bit of football, made some great friends, and hardly any responsibilities
Seem to remember it was a nice summer that year too

Probably 1989, as I left school that year, got my first car, had a fabulous lads holiday in Faliraki, had my first threesome, started my first job, and rented by first flat
Obviously, if the wife reads this, it was actually 2003 when I got married

1540 was a good year for me as it was the end of Reformation - which was proving to be a bit of a hassle being as I knew Bob Monkhouse.
Prior to that, I have fond memories of 991 when King Ethelred began getting serious with the Danish...
There are other very splendid years to raise, including 1918 when WW1 ended and 1989 when I hung round the linear park with my mates burning rubber smurfs or 1992 when the blue bridge and merrydown cider vomit were the things of teens...
2089 was too a good year for the semi I bought on Mars was sold at a profit of 15zillion marpletards, which I used to buy Zericon 9 (an inhabitable planet 4 light years past Pluto, turn right and second planet next to the fourth star on the right...

every year is a good one as it is another one I have survived
but if I had to list 1 it would be 1972 as it was the one I was born in without it I wouldn't be writing this post now so it has to be the best one. {for me anyway }

'94 was pretty good, working in Romania building it's first proper dedicated A&E unit, Great people, beer about 5p a pint, cigs about 20p for 20, staying in the nurses dorms with communal showers hitching up with a young female doctor and just great weather Carlsberg don't do working holidays but... I'd actually concider moving over there it was so good!
