Question

Looking to buy a digital mini DV camera but grateful for any advice cos its an expensive mistake if I get it wrong - Also, would be interested in a used good one.

get the shiniest one - (Sony every time. VFM is always excellent)

My JVC DVL-150 is nice and light and produces great videos. Some of these small DV cameras (e.g. Sony) are fairly heavy - makes your arm tired after a while

Anyway, it was about £450 and I think that's a bargain.

But, it doesn't have DV-in (only DV-out) which would be really useful after editing on the PC so I could write back to DV tape.

Don't bother with digital zoom either - it's rubbish (pixels).

Canon MV 450i

I looked into it greatly and this little beauty got all the best marks by various testers including WHICH mag etc....

Father Christmas brought me one for Xmas

I have a Sony and i can recommend it for build quality.I dropped it from about 5ft and it still works perfectly,much to my amazement.
