Pound to dollar rate

Pound to dollar rate
Wondering if someone might be able to help me on this one??
I'm going to Vegas next week and have still got to sort out my money. I've just checked Tesco's finance and they are selling at 1.74 to the pound, but a friend of a friend said that I would be better off changing my money once I get out there as I would get around 1.9 for my pound.
Is it true that you get a better exchange rate if you wait and change your money when you get on holiday?? Any help would be great! Thanks.

You wont get that anywhere near 1.9 as the currency market rate is 1.79 right now. You may be able to get a better rate over there compared to the UK, but the rate might fall between now and then in which case you'll get a better deal to buy now. It's a lottery!

Just spent 3 months using the $ and it fluctuated quite alot on a daily basis out there at the cash machine. Its just a gamble really.

Was in Florida last week and noticed the rate was 1.67, would probably have been marginally better here. We were lucky as we had already been buying dollars throughout the year when they were 1.93 +
