Default Paypal prob..

Just a bit of help here guys please..

Bought some tickets off the net(not ebay) and paid by Paypal..

Anyway,i was waiting for these tickets for a week and was supplied a tracking number..This turned out to be false..

Seller went quiet for a few days,so i put in a Paypal refund claim.. Seller gave paypal another tracking number to Paypal,so there investigating it at the moment.

In the meantime i bombarded the seller with calls and a few texts to try and get a reaction(nothing foul or libelous)..Anyway it worked and we started communicating again..

She has finally admitted that she was desperate for money and sold the tickets to 2 people to get the cash, obviously i didnt get anything.
So i asked for my money back, and she says that she is in bad financial difficulty, and will repay me on payday in a week or so..

Wont hold my breath..

SO... Whats my options?? Just wait for Paypal,do you think they will come through and get my money back?

I have got 2 addresses for her...One in Rushden and one in Thrapston, both in Northampton..This is probably a 250 mile round trip for me,or i would give her a call..Non of which may be real of course..

Any help or idea's appreciated..

TIA

Call the police? She's admitted to fraudulently taking your money.

Do you have the conversations logged or was it just over the phone?

Yep, call police. You MAY get your money back but she WILL try to f*** you over before you get it, if you get it.

TBH you're fooked with paypal.

They don't give a toss other than where they get their wedge from, and don't help the loser. One of the world's largest (if not THE) largest facilitators of fraud when you add their owners, ebay into the equation.

Can't un-recommend them enough.

You're even less likely to see your money if your address is paypal confirmed, as you can't do a chargeback if she sent something to you and it was registered - even if it was an empty crisp packet.

Will the police be interested at all ?? Personally i have little faith in them..

Tell them you saw her speeding and you reckon her car had been de-catted.

It's false representation, so has to be taken and looked into by the force where she lives.

If the tracking numbers are false then paypal should know this and reverse the payment - but they take ages.

Good luck!

Get your refund then close your paypal account down - terrible company with a terrible attitude other than to profit.

Yea.. Think i will need it!!

I do realise paypal and ebay are sh*te,just the fee's are enough to get ya back up... Just ebay is easy to get rid of all ya crap and stuff it seemed like a good idea.. And to be fair i have bought and sold 229 items upto now and this is the 1st prob.. And its nothin to do with Ebay/paypal really, just a young lady shyster who is tryin to scam me..

I will get her in the sh*t though if she dont cough up,that will just make me more determined!!

If she has funds in her account then you should get your money back. If not then you've little chance of it. It seems that she's in financial difficulty so she's probably withdrawn the money anyway. Looks bad for you.

On another note, Paypal are sh*te anyway. I paid a deposit for a car which was significantly not as described. The seller refused to refund my deposit so I thought okay, Paypal will. No, as far as they're concerned it's an intangable item. I mean WTF, how can a car not be an item? I don't use Paypal anymore.

Your money is safe now. Im quite a big eBay seller and never had any problems with Paypal and when Ive needed to get my money back they have done so everytime.

Rushden is just down the road from me, not a particually nice town!

Ah..

Thanx for that....

Considering the tale in the court im suprised i got my money back,i think it was because my claim is pending, and if i went to the police after the court ruling,i dare say she would be off to the big house..!!

8.5k is that all god if I was going to risk getting caught for fraud it would be so much more than that.

Glad you got it back anyway, a lucky escape.
