i think you can get a full years worth for £25 if you get the codes from the usa tbh
49p for 2 days is reasonable for a test!
if you sign up with a new online account i think they give you a trial for free anyway?

Why not just pay the £4.99 a month? surely that wont break the bank. Believe me you wont be disappointed. It a great craic !!
