Another vote for Le Touquet.
Or go inland stay at Arras, and spend some time looking at the War Cemeteries, War memorials, Thiepval, Lochnagar, etc. Very sobering.
Arras has quite nice shopping too.
Or go across to Lille, history and a huge shopping complex( Euro-Lille).
Rouen is two hours by motorway, again loads of history, nice shopping.
I'd stay in chain hotels too: Balladins are nice at €50 per night, double room with the hotel's own very French restaurant, a meal for two with drinks, plenty of wine and beer cost us €45 this august.
