Default IPhone

Can I get an IPhone on Vodafone?

My friendly upgrader fella says not possible......but they usually lie.

Wants me to sign up for 24 month contract too...is this the norm now?

Thanks in advance.

the iPhone and iPhone 3G are only officially on O2 in the UK. It is possible to "unlock" the original iPhone so it can be used with any network you like, the Pwange tool would be one of the best ways to do this. As for the iPhone 3G, at present there isn't an unlock to allow it to be used on any network, but it is being worked on.

You wont get all the facilities available to you on any other network except O2 though the unlocked phone will work fine on vodafone, just watch out for the lack of edge on other networks when you leave the 3g areas though.

I just got an upgrade on Vodafone, at the Vodafone shop and got given a 12 month contract, was on 18 months previously, the guy told me they are going back to 12 month contracts.
He did offer me an 18 month contract with £100 cash back but i declined that. I wouldn't touch a 24 month contract, IMO the phones don't last that long

Thanks for the replies..

I currently have an N95 8GIG, I like it for ts camera and memory.

What should I get next?

I have even thought of just getting another N95 8GIG just for the sake of it.

Any more advice would be good I know SFA about phones.

I dont go on line with them, I dont use sat nav, I dont play games.

I do use it as a phone, listen to music and use the camera alot.
