One for the fitness gurus
I'm after a decent heart rate monitor but could do with some suggestions from the resident fitness guys.
I've been looking on ebay but I'm not too up on the different brands.
I'm after one with a chest strap with some decent usable features.
Any recomendations?

I've a Polar too, but tend to use my wifes Garmin GPS with heart rate monitor. Prefer the Garmin as you can record bpm versus gradient / speed etc and compare with previous runs / cycles etc.
Heart rate on its own is pretty pointless

i use a polar rs200 (yes its the only rs200 i'll ever own!!!)
coupled with a footpad for distance measuring...
commenting about the need for one, well, its proven that exercise is most efficient in certain heart rate zones and everyone is different.
read up on it for more info, its really interesting. also gives me something to play with while running !!!

I've used an old polar hrm for years. I find with limited time, and acurately working out your fat burning/aerobic/anerobic rates, you can train very effectively if time is of the essence.
Polar were pretty much the only ones on the market when I used to be into my fitness in a big way, nowadays there are loads out there to choose from. If you really get into it, get a cheap one for now, then upgrade when you require more features.
