bad roads are causing nightmares when cycling - I know that much!
The worse bit is that the car drivers suffer twice - once for their own wear and tear and then having some poor innocent cyclist swerving out when they try to avoid the 6" deep pot hole
I know drivers are meant to leave sufficient space but I've near had to get into the other lane on occasion!

The roads round here kill lower arm suspension bushes on most cars.
Whilst its doesn't cause the car to break down, or fail MOTs (unless its really bad). It ends up making it eat tyres and drive like a sloppy bag of poop.

There was a time when councils used to take a pride in keeping the roads in top condition. They have lost interest, just as in anything else to improve the lot of the council tax payer.

It goes on ethnic diversity officers, excessive wages, gold plated pensions with retirement at 60, speed cameras, pointless traffic engineering and ' inclusive community events'.

I was just thinking this the other day, everytime i go out driving it's just constant fooking bump bump, sunken man holes covers..what pisses me off are them stupid fooking silly white islands, that everyone just drives over.Makes me laugh that the council have put them white islands on a section of raod near me,so now the traffic on the main road is having to stop and give way to traffic on the right, coming out of a side road...Fooking unbeliveable..Great Job

As for the state of the roads don't get me started or I'll be here all night! Although I will say, I worked in Romania 10 years ago and their roads were in a better state then than ours are now!

White islands?? Not seen any of theme here.. Yet! I take it they are done in the same way as the mini-roundabouts?

Yeah, the white painted roundabouts were what I was talking about.

Really? When I was there, there were 4 foot wide and several feet deep 'potholes' in quite a lot of the roads.
I do agree with the state of the roads here, repairs seem to be not done properly (when done at all).
